Mr. Mahmood is a professional Engineer with over 25 years of international experience in Traffic engineering, Road Safety and Transportation Planning. His international Experience includes USA, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan. The range of projects, he has managed and participated in include local and area-wide transportation planning, traffic safety studies, Road safety audit and assessment, traffic impact analysis, designing and planning of bicycle and pedestrian facilities, roadway signing and striping design, construction work zones traffic management plans, plans to implement traffic calming techniques, and developing parking master plans. He has worked as Road Safety Expert on Baluchistan Road sector Development Project (ADB funded project). During his career spanning over 25 years, he held the permanent position of Traffic Engineer for the State department of California, Transportation Planner for the greater Los Angeles Area, Senior Transportation Planner in Saudi Arabia, and Senior Traffic Engineer & Road Safety Expert in Pakistan. Presently he is a full time teaching faculty at NICE, NUST. In Pakistan, he contributed in development of Traffic Safety strategic plan for Pakistan and Conducted several road safety audits for national highways within urban and rural areas of Pakistan. He helped Multan development authority in developing guidelines for Traffic impact study. Designed signalization of 13 intersections for Bahawalpur City. Additionally played consulting role in many other traffic engineering and road safety projects at national level. He is a regular faculty member of Transportation Engineering in National University of Science & Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan, where he teaches Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering and Road safety. He has carried out many research projects pertaining to the same areas while serving in NUST. He also served as Co- trainer in delivering Road Safety Audit training to NHA engineers. Mr. Mahmood holds Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Michigan State University, USA. In addition, he has done specialized traffic engineering and safety courses from University of California Barkley, USA.
