Summary

I am Dr. Rashid Iftikhar. My research areas include nutrient based pollution in aquatic environments and microalgal biotechnology. Major disturbances to the biological, chemical and geological processes that regulate the flow of energy and matter in the environment have led to the development of new approaches to tackle these challenges. Interested in integrating biological and engineering studies using microalgae systems to develop algae based bioremediation technologies for CO2 sequestration and water purification through reactor design modifications, cultivation optimization and scale-up. Other interests include working on bio-composites for application in food packaging and biomedical. Interested in effect of plasticizers, treatments and raw materials used on properties of bio-composites.
