Summary

Dr. Shakil Ahmad is currently serving as Associate Professor at Department of Water Resources Engineering and Management (WRE&M) of NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (NICE). Dr. Shakil received MSc Water Resources Engineering from Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering (CEWRE), University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan and PhD degree from the University of Tokyo (UT), Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Shakil has more than 25 years of multidisciplinary research, teaching and industrial/consultancy experience in various disciplines of WRE&M with emphasis on climate change and its impact on water cycle variability, hydro-meteorological extremes (i.e. floods, droughts and heat waves), hazard vulnerability and risk assessment, hydrological & hydraulic modelling, water balance studies, reservoir operation & sedimentation, hydropower optimization, stormwater drainage, and various other WRE&M projects. In his academic career, he has supervised over 31 post-graduates in WRE&M and also published over 39 papers (Cumulative Impact factor = 130+, total citations = 800+, H-index =15+, i10-index = 21+).
