Minhaj University Lahore (MUL) was founded in 1986 by Shaykh ul Islam, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, chartered by the Government of Punjab, and is recognized by the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. MUL hosts more than 15000 students in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs under eleven faculties and 36 academic schools.

Among various other schools, School of Religion and Philosophy is a distinguished academic seat. For the past few years, the school has gained an outstanding place among other international institutions by organizing international conferences to promote academic research and dialogue in the theology of different religions. The themes of the earlier conferences were: Religious Pluralism and World Peace (2017); Social Responsibility of World Religions (2018); Science, Reason, and Religion (2019); Spirituality and Religion (virtual in 2021); Religious Difference: New Prospects for Interreligious Dialogue (2022); and Religions in a Postmodern World – Perspectives and Challenges (2023).

This year, the 7th International Conference on World Religions – (ICWR-24) is scheduled on the 26th and 27th of October 2024 on the theme: Politics and Violence in the Name of Religion.

In this conference, eminent scholars, researchers, experts, and Gurus representing various religions will share their invaluable insights, experiences, and conclusions, making a significant contribution to the global peace agenda.
