The China-Pakistan Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Smart Disaster Prevention of Major Infrastructures is a collaborative initiative between Southeast University (SEU), Nanjing, and National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Pakistan. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), NUST serves as the Executive Body for Pakistan. The sub-center aims to promote joint research, academic exchange, and innovation in disaster risk reduction and resilient infrastructure systems. The ceremony began with the Recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by remarks from Dr. Muhammad Usman and Prof. Zhong-Fan Chen. Representatives from MoST, NDMA, and partner universities shared their views on collaborative research. The session concluded with an interactive discussion and closing remarks by Dr. Muhammad Usman.
The second session included talks by the Addl. Secretary MoST, the Pro-Rector (Academics) NUST, and Prof. Zhong-Fan Chen, highlighting the importance of science-led cooperation. The event concluded with the unveiling ceremony at the NICE Structures Lab, followed by a group photo and tea break.
