Summary

Professor Dr. Muhammad Irfan is currently serving as Principal and Dean, School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (SCEE), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. Formerly, he has served as Dean, Military College of Engineering (MCE), NUST Campus Risalpur (2019-2022), the Head of Department, Research at MCE/ NUST (2016-2019), Head of Transportation & Geotechnical Engineering Department at MCE/NUST (2015-16), Head of Construction Engineering & Management Department at MCE/ NUST (2014-15) and Head of Transportation Engineering Department at NUST's National Institute of Transportation (NIT) from 2010-14. He holds MS Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. degree from Purdue University, USA. Dr. Irfan has also qualified Applied Management Principles Program (Mini-MBA) from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University, USA. Dr. Irfan has more than 30x years of work experience in various disciplines of Civil Engineering with emphasis on highway infrastructure engineering and management systems, Pavement materials characterizations and transportation systems evaluation/ decision making. He has presented his research work at a significant number of international conferences and authored/ co-authored several peer-reviewed archival journal publications. He has supervised over 30 post-graduate thesis research studies and has over 90x publications to his credit (Cumulative Impact factor = 200+, total citations = 2000+, H-index =28+, i10-index = 46+)
