Academia-Industry Linkage Initiative

  • SCEE along with NUST China Study Centre (CSC) held an online meeting with representatives of Shandong Jiaotong University (SDJTU) to discuss/ clarify different clauses of MoA for future Collaboration. The agenda of discussion included following:

    • Modalities of MoA and establishment of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) lab at NUST.

    • Financial management of funds and lab equipment.

    • Rights and obligations of the parties.

  • A MoU was signed with National Disaster and Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) to facilitate the R&D on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation and mitigation in Pakistan. To follow up, a team of SCEE visited National Disaster and Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) to take initiative to devise solution through scientific research on climate induced disasters and risk reduction in areas susceptible of hazardous glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF).

  • SCEE participated in Pakistan Engineering Council Capstone Expo 2022. A total of 200x projects from 35x different Universities participated in competition and Bendable Concrete Project of SCEE/ NUST secured 1st Position and Cash Prize of Rs. 100,000 in the category of ‘Civil Engineering & Allied Disciplines’ that aims at the Commercialization of Bendable Concrete (Engineered Cementitious Composite) for more efficient and cost-effective alternate of Conventional Concrete.

  • Scoping Consultative Session on National Emergencies Preparedness and Response Regime was organized by NDMA at NUST. Session was attended/ represented by Pro-Rector (P&R), Pro-Rector (RIC), Principal SCEE and Registrar NUST. Main objective of the session was:

    • To collaborate with NDMA in preparing remodeled “National Emergencies Preparedness and Response Regime” through adaptative and pro-actively poised action plan including redefined research and evaluation strategy on disaster management (DM).

    • To have all institution working on domain of DM and also undertaking training/academic/research work/etc.

    • To collaborate with all Pakistan’s DM institutes that would help global sponsorships, students exchange programs, knowledge sharing and flow of DM’s future information
